Are you passionate about safeguarding data privacy and ensuring compliance with regulations? Compare the Market is seeking a skilled Data Protection Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team in Peterborough.

Some of the great things you’ll be doing:

·       Provide expert legal advice and guidance on data protection matters to internal stakeholders.

·       Review and draft contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection laws, including GDPR.

·       Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and advise on risk mitigation strategies.

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data protection measures and privacy-by-design principles.

·       Handle data subject access requests (DSARs) and manage responses within regulatory deadlines.

·       Stay abreast of evolving data protection laws and regulations to advise on compliance strategies and best practices.

What we’d like to see from you:

·       Qualified solicitor with substantial experience in data protection Law, preferably in a commercial or in-house legal environment.

·       Strong understanding of GDPR and other relevant data protection legislation.

·       Awareness and understanding of FCA regulations.

·       Demonstrated ability to interpret complex legal requirements and provide practical guidance to non-legal stakeholders.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments.

·       Proven track record of managing data protection projects and driving compliance initiatives.

·       Attention to detail and ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Being a member of Legal, Risk and Compliance team, you’ll be ensuring we operate in the most effective and efficient way possible to deliver against our strategy, whilst minimising risk to Compare the Market.
